Don't Buy, Build

If you are planning on owning your own home in the near future and are looking at homes for sale, you should think about why are they for sale. Many home owners sell their homes with a lot of problems. These problems are not always that bad, but they can be. Imagine buying a home that looks nice only to find out that the way it was built causes water to flood your basement when it rains. Do you really want to inherit their nightmare? Of course you don’t. When building a new home you have total control over the type of house, where it is built, and what additions you want added. Not everyone wants to have a 3rd room for an office, or a 4th room for a playroom, but maybe you do. Design it the way you want it. Granted this may cost you a bit more in the beginning but this can also save you money in the long run as your new home will build instant equity.

Before building though you will want to figure out what you want to have in your floor plan. Decide how many bedrooms you are going to need, if you want a patio, how many floors you want, if you want a driveway or a garage (which will require its own garage construction plans ). This process does not need to be a nightmare, as it can be extremely fun. Think about it. You are designing a home. Not just any home, but your home.
